SuiteCRM forecast in ChatGPT or Claude: what closes this quarter
A weighted SuiteCRM forecast from ChatGPT or Claude: what closes this quarter, which close dates already slipped, which deals stalled, and updates once you confirm.
Contents
Every opportunity in SuiteCRM has an amount, a sales stage, a probability and an expected close date, which is everything a quarterly forecast needs. Connect SuiteCRM to ChatGPT or Claude and ask for it in plain words: the weighted total, the deals whose close date has already passed, the negotiations nobody has touched for two weeks.
How to connect SuiteCRM to ChatGPT or Claude
Three weeks into the quarter, the board wants the sales director’s number: what will close by 31 December. In SuiteCRM that number is spread over dozens of opportunities, each with its own amount, stage, probability and close date. Ask ChatGPT or Claude for it, with SuiteCRM connected, and the weighting is done for you. When we looked on 23 October 2026, there was no official SuiteCRM connector for either ChatGPT or Claude.
- Start with the setup guide if APIUniCon isn’t in your ChatGPT or Claude yet.
- Write in the chat: “Connect my SuiteCRM”, and give the address you open it at. If the AI asks for the developer pages, send it SuiteCRM’s V8 API guide.
- Create the access. SuiteCRM’s authentication guide starts from Admin → OAuth2 Clients and Tokens; the client you need there is a client credentials client. Its form asks for a name, a secret you make up and an Associated User, whose rights the AI will get.
- Write the secret down before you save: SuiteCRM stores only a hash of it and can’t show it again. After saving, SuiteCRM shows the client’s ID.
- Paste the ID and the secret on our page, using the link the AI sends you. They never go into the chat, and we keep them encrypted.
The CRM has to be reachable from the internet over https. SuiteCRM counts as one of the services in your plan; see Pricing.
What to ask SuiteCRM about the quarter
When the forecast is due, these come up most:
- What is the weighted forecast for opportunities closing this quarter, by sales stage?
- Which open opportunities have a close date that has already passed?
- How much has been won this quarter so far, and by whom?
- Which deals in Negotiation/Review have had no call, meeting or task for 14 days?
- What is each rep’s pipeline for December, total and weighted?
- Which opportunities above $20,000 have no Next Step filled in?
- Which opportunities closed as lost in October, and what were they worth?
- Which accounts have more than one open opportunity right now?
Cases for the Q4 board number
The deals below belong to a made-up software reseller with a big quarter at stake.
The weighted number
“What’s the weighted forecast for this quarter?” The AI takes open opportunities with a close date in October, November or December and multiplies each amount by its probability. SuiteCRM fills in the probability from the sales stage, and your reps can override it, so the AI uses whatever is in the record.
34 open opportunities are expected to close this quarter, $612,000 in total and $308,800 weighted. Most of it sits in two stages: Negotiation/Review, 6 deals for $148,000 ($118,400 weighted), and Proposal/Price Quote, 9 deals for $186,000 ($120,900 weighted). The other 19 are in early stages and add $69,500.
Before it goes to the board, check the close dates.
Close dates that already passed
“Which open opportunities have a close date in the past?” A close date that has slipped without anyone updating it inflates every forecast.
11 open opportunities are past their close date, $203,000 in total. 8 of them are in this quarter’s forecast, worth $151,000, with dates between 1 and 22 October. 3 are left over from last quarter, $52,000. Daniel owns 7 of the 11. The oldest, Northgate Supplies, was due on 6 September, 47 days ago. 4 of the 11 have no Next Step.
So $151,000 of the $612,000 needs a new date before the forecast can be trusted.
Negotiations that went quiet
The last check is activity. “Which deals in Negotiation/Review have had no call, meeting or task in the last 14 days?” The AI reads the calls, meetings and tasks linked to each of the 6 opportunities in that stage.
2 of the 6. Harbor Logistics, $42,000: the last call was 19 days ago and nothing is scheduled. Pine & Co, $18,500: nothing has been logged since the proposal went out on 2 October, 21 days ago. The other 4 all have a call or meeting this week or next.
What the AI can do in SuiteCRM
You ask for updates the same way, in plain words. The one extra step: the AI lays out the old and new values and makes the change only after you approve it.
- “Move the close date of Northgate Supplies to 15 December.” You see the opportunity, the current date and the new one.
- “Set Pine & Co to Closed Lost.” The stage change comes up for your confirmation first.
- “Schedule a call for Daniel with Harbor Logistics on Tuesday at 10:00.” The call appears with its time, owner and opportunity before it’s created.
- “Fill in the Next Step on the four overdue deals: confirm budget and decision date.” All four come up with the text that will be saved.
- “Reassign the three opportunities left over from last quarter to Priya.” The list and the new owner come first.
Changes are made with the rights of the Associated User. If that user can’t edit opportunities, the AI will tell you the change was refused rather than guess.
Questions and answers
Which versions of SuiteCRM work?
SuiteCRM has offered this kind of client since version 7.10.2, and SuiteCRM 8 keeps the same “OAuth2 Clients and Tokens” page in Admin. If your CRM is older than 7.10.2, it needs an update first.
The test request fails. What now?
Usually the server side of the API isn't finished. SuiteCRM's [installation guide](https://docs.suitecrm.com/developer/integration-api/v8/installation/) asks for a pair of encryption keys on the server and for URL rewriting to be on. Whoever installed your SuiteCRM can set up both. Then ask the AI to try again.
Does the AI see the whole CRM?
It sees what the user you chose as “Associated User” can see. Pick someone with access to Opportunities, Calls, Meetings and Tasks. For changes, that user also needs edit rights.
Our SuiteCRM only opens from the office network. Will it work?
No. APIUniCon reaches your CRM over the internet, the same way you would from home. The address has to open from outside the office, over https.
I lost the client secret. Can I see it in SuiteCRM?
No, SuiteCRM keeps only a hash of it. Open the same client, set a new secret, save, and tell the AI “Update the SuiteCRM key”. It sends a fresh link to our page.
Will ChatGPT and Claude give the same forecast?
The numbers will match, because both read the same opportunities from your SuiteCRM. Only the wording of the answer may differ.
